and a few more lol

2 bronze plates welded together half way, put into a vice and smacked repeatedly...note the bottom plate split not the weld.

practice weld on a scrap stainless steel sight flow indicator body

316ss weld, sanitary fitting to sight flow indicator

finished product

heres a shot of the welding area...you need to multi task when tig welding: amperage pedal, pressure sensitive speed control pedal for turn table...theres both feet working, tig torch in one hand and filler in the other...its a little confusing at times in the beginning

few months ago i fried a torch, took it apart and took a pic

no its not under cut, i was welding autogenus, or without filler. This type of weld can sometimes produce a bead that looks undercut.

Is it just not considered undercut if welding autogenous?

One condition of the definition of undercut is "the reduction in thickness of the base metal at the line where the weld bead on the final layer of weld metal ties into the surface of the base metal."

But based on the fact that you aren't adding any filler I think it would be almost impossible to not get any undercut welding autogenous.

I got the definition here...
