Well, I've posted questions before on here and another site, seems the other site some people just want to bash but figured I'd post up this build.

Its in my '79 Monte.
350SB .030 over
.125 dome pistons with moly rings
Every bolt is ARP
heads are summit cast iron headsSummit Racing SUM-152123 - Summit Racing® Cast Iron Cylinder Heads for Small Chevy - Overview - SummitRacing.com (funny how when I bought them they said 67cc instead of 72cc, guess it was misinformation from there supplier)
comp cams 12-238-2 cam
1.5 roller rockers
holley 80555C 650cfm carb
long tube headers
2.25 exhaust with flotech afterburner mufflers

now if anyone has seen my posts before you know I messed up when I installed the cam as I installed it 4* advanced when I should have done straight up.

I have yet to be able to get to it this year, but the good thing is that it is now parked for the winter soon to be under snow so in the spring that is my first project to get done.

Now yes I do believe what I have in my sig for power.

Now I did some recient test with it with a GPS to confirm speed and such.

80mph turning 2800rpms(amazingly enough I got 19mpg doing this)
104/5 turning about 3500
116 @ 4000
and lastly 132 @ 4500+

It didnt go much faster then then that as it just kinda floated out and didnt want to turn more R's so that's ok hopefully with the timing fixed next year it'll go a bit faster.

oh and all of this is with 235/60r14 tires(25.1") and a 2.43:1 rear.

I'm just saying that with a cam that small, and 72cc heads, I find it hard to believe you're making 400+ hp. But then again I've been proven wrong before. Not trying to hate.

Only thing I have done is bench calculations based on my specs. But I understand. I've been proven wrong too. My goal was a 350/350.

Jake you mentioned new cam on other thread. What would be an option you would use?
This is a daily warm weather driver and I do need some mileage out of it.

I didn't think it was but you made it sound like it was just above stock.

I didn't get to drive it last year but I did get new wheels and tires for it and check on the cam. Turns out I did set the cam straight up, but I went ahead and turned it back 4*. Haven't been able to test it out or run it yet but hoping this next month I can get more done on it and get back on the road.

Well got a couple of updated pics with the new wheels on it.

I got 25mm spacers. And apon looking @ the back of the wheels I realized there was a 3rd number along with the size of 16x8. The rear wheels have a 16mm offset.could have gotten away with a 20mm spacer if I could have found one but oh well. It's still in wheel well and dont have to worry about the lip catching on the wheel.

Definately need more meat on those wheels. the size are 245/45zr16 which is only a 24.7" tall tire.

Bump for those that can't search.

It does need some more meat on the wheels, finding 16's that will fit right is a pain. 14's were a pain, 15's I couldn't find the right wheels, now 16's the sizes I'd like are discontinued. 17's and up are the popular sizes now.

And thnx stew for the compliment. I thought they were more unique on this style car. I was looking for zq8's but could find any locally.
