Howdy y'all. Just registered on this site. I've spent all morning trying to get some info. I recently bought a 1991 S10 4X4 Blazer and have been slowly going over it and repairing what I can do myself. It's been rode hard and has 237,000 miles on it, but still looks pretty sharp. The windows in the front doors (both driver and passenger) are really sloppy in their tracks due to the weatherstripping or runners being completely worn out or gone. I found what was left of them in the inside bottom of the doors. I have located replacement runners, but when attempting to remove the first window, I discovered that BOTH front and back tracks are spot-welded inside the door and I am seeking the correct way to get the window out,(darn near broke the glass on the first try) so I can install the new runners. I found some videos on youtube, but they were newer models where one of the tracks is bolted, allowing it to be removed or loosened. Is there anyone out here that can explain how to remove the glass? My nephew wanted to pry on the tracks to spread them, but I KNOW that ain't the way. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks y'all! Have a great day!

It's been a while since I've done it but I have done it a few times. If I remember correctly, once I had the window loose I held it at about the halfway mark and let the front end of the window slide down in while I lifted up on the back end. I think the slanted edge of the window had to be pretty close to being vertical while removing and reinserting the window. It might also help if you pull the seal/trim out of the window frame. Also because of the curvature of the glass I'm pretty sure I was standing inside the door while doing all this.
