Do you have an annoying rattle coming from the front of your truck?

does it sound like this:

if so there is an overwhelmingly good chance that it is coming from the brake caliper pins. To verify this is the issue, drive down a road that you know causes the rattling to appear while lightly applying the brakes. If the noise disappears, this is your problem.

The fix is relatively easy and requires only a few tools.

7/8" deep socket for lug nuts/hub caps

18mm socket for caliper pins (bolts)

21mm socket for caliper bracket

I use 1/2" sockets so i can put a breaker bar and cheater on and not worry about tools snapping.

large screwdriver for compressing pistons (yes, plural the hd trucks have dual piston calipers on them)

thin piece of metal, go get a cheap windshield wiper and take the metal strip out of it. form the end to a point and bend it up 140 or so. this is to remove the rubber bushing from within the caliper bracket

I broke from normal tradition and bought my pins from autozone, they were like $7.25 per set, includes 2 pins and 2 bushings.

this should only take a few hours to do with hand tools, maybe a little faster with an impact gun.
