Sweet. I'm going to peep the adhesives section tomorrow when I stop at O'Reillys tomorrow to get tix on the way to Autorama.

I got my taxes back today too so the truck will probably be getting even more love shortly.

Got my meats today.

I don't know if any of you have dealt with tire-easy.com but I highly recommend them. The tires were cheap and they were on my doorstep before i got the shipping confirmation, they were here in two days to be exact.

Getting my centercaps going too.

Me too! They're almost done, just have to epoxy the centers in and try not to fail at it. lol
I think I might lightly scuff the chrome on the rest of the too so they have that brushed look seeing how it is the beaty rings are kind of brushed looking too.

I got the tires mounted up today, and in the process I ran into a couple bummers. The paint on my rims and brake drums is failing and starting to rust after one MI. winter, a testament to how brutal the road salt is here. Also, the chrome is peeling off my lug nuts, and my buddy decided not to put the special socket for my lug nuts ALL THE WAY ON the the damn torque wrench so it split right up the back of it where the drive goes.
Anyways, here's some pics of my hillbillied dirty ass truck with no center caps. lol

Here's a before shot in case no one has ever seen what these rims look like with no trim on them.

They hired a young rookie at my local tire shop who looked at them like they were from space. "I've never seen any rims like this" lol

I actually think it's a little weird looking the way it sits which is why I want to get my blocks back in A.S.A.P. and I'll hopefully have the centers finished up tonight so the epoxy can cure overnight.

Looks fantastic. The bigger tires straightened out the stance perfectly.

A space/ gap, my stock GM roll pan did the same thing. I just drilled the holes bigger on mine so I could adjust it.

The way it comes through, it makes it look like there is something wrong with that rear fender.

Well there's not, so shut it. lol

Here we go.

Sucks because I manged to dent one while I was putting it back on. It's right on par with the way things go for me most times though. lol

And here's a better pic from the side with the new tires.

I need help, should I...
(a) Keep the current rims(they need paint work and it's bumming me out)
(b) Get the torque thrusts in a black 15x7/15x8 combo
(c) Get the steel wheels in black to run my dog dishes on that I bought 2+ years ago that I kinda wanted on there all along?

Here's a pic of the dog dishes.

Another pro to the steel wheel scenario is I don't have to give shits about them in the winter time, just take off my dog dishes and drive the shit out of it.
Here's the knock off TTs I was looking at.

keep what you've got. The dog dishes are cool, but hub caps were cool in the 50's, 60's custom scene. I don't think they'd look as good with the 70's muscle look you've got going on.

I"m partial to Torq Thrusts of course, and they look good on anything. BUt the ones you've got on there now, really do look good, especially with those caps on them. It's up to you, but TT's are $$ and The ones you got now look great.

I agree that the TT would look great. They always do. But I'm afraid he would lose some of the Oldsmobile style he has obviously worked so hard to achieve. That was the point I was trying to make.

Question: If you have the Olds emblem all over this thing, why not get rid of the S10 badges on the doors?

Thanks a lot guys. A cooler head as prevailed and after reading your posts I'm sticking to what I got. I was just looking around at rims while being bummed out about the center cap I dented and the paint problem with the rims and started thinking crazy thoughts.
I guess I'm not going to be such a and work on what I have. Then I'll have money to fix a few little odds and ends here and there that need attention instead.
I may get a few quotes to have the rims powder coated just for shits and giggles later on.

Joker, it's the only s10 badge left on the truck and it's covering a giant chip in the paint. I'm getting there. lol

a tip on the powder coating... if you can find a place that has a contract with a manufacturer or something where they do black on a regular basis, you can typically get a better deal if they can just throw it in with another batch instead of making a special job of it.

Was browsing craigslist, saw these, and thought of this truck.

TWO BUICK SKYLARK GRAN SPORT CHROME WHEELS RIMS__STEEL RIM WHEEL__14X6

Yeah, they wouldn't fit with our bolt pattern, and they're for a buick, but still.... lol

They put them on Oldsmobiles too. And Mopars, and Fords. My buddy has them on his 72' Skylark and they are the same bolt pattern, I should throw them on one day for shits and giggles. I really like the 500 style rims but it's just too much chrome, and I can't go down in rim size. lol
