Ellie May is a white 1988 Chevy R30 Cab and Chassis with a 9' flatbed, My uncle has a black 1984 C30 C&C called he calls Jethro, so I call mine Ellie May after The Beverly Hillbillies.

The truck had been sitting in storage for at least 10 years in Northeastern Ohio and ran when parked, and after a while would not start.

The air cleaner being removed may have lead to the throttle body problems that I have had.

Being off loaded in my driveway.

And the engine after sitting.

Photobucket is doing maintenance, I've been thinking about switching to Flickr any way.

It will be used to hauling and towing and be driven every once in a while to keep it happy, beer runs and such. I have a full set of dog dishes that I cleaned up and stock 16" wheels since its on 16.5s now that are dry rotted on 3 corners. I have a Z-bar clutch linkage and pedal for it but If I go to a manual (465) I'd prefer to use a hydraulic clutch and have a dual pattern hydro bell any way.

Time to leave that S10F mentality behind, aren't you over 21? You shouldn't be thinking like a dumb minitrucker anymore.

Who is gonna race shift a truck manual anyway? Its a 1 ton and I'd prefer to have an overdrive and a low gear for hauling and towing anyway. Its a little more cost effective to go with a NV4500 (although I have been thinking a SM465 with a Brownie would be interesting) over a 4L80e anyway.
