Just bought vette sawblades from fellow member Iroc2nv and need ot lower the blaze.

i was thinkin going Zq8 frt coil springs and a 2" block in the rear. Would this be the esaiest way to lower couple inches? Also would i need to get angled blocks or just get a shim kit to keep my pinion angle.

I would like to keep my oem rear spring cause i may pull my trailer with it. I have already added monroe sensa-trac load adjusting shocks from my 94 before i lifted it.

any and all opinions are welcome. thanks.

I'm not quite sure how the pinion angle is affected on the blazer's when dropped to be honest. Zq8 coils will give it about a 1.5" drop at the most in the front.

Is this a 2door or 4door blazer?

Gotcha. As much as I'd like to answer, I'm not 100% positive on the Pinion angle. Maybe one of the other gurus could answer this for you.

Yeah that's a pretty easy way to drop it a couple inches but like Jake said the ZQ8 coils will only get you 1.5" in the front. As far as the pinion angle goes every truck is a little different, generally you want the pinion to point down a little because it rotates upward under load.

That being said you can go one of two ways, get 2'' straight blocks and see where you're then add shims if necessary or do what I would do and what JTR recommends which is 2'' 3 degree angled blocks or 2'' straight blocks w/3* shims.
I always recommend JTR's blocks/shims which are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. If not those get some steel or cast iron blocks and use JTR's shims.

i am just not that familiar with the whole lowering thing.

i will be running 245-45-17 in the frt and 275 40-17 in the rear. My 01 sonoma was Zq8 and i liked how it rode. This blazer is my DD and i dont want it to ride like a 4 wheeled wagon.

qould rather not buy spindles since they are so damn expensive. I am a cheap, when it comes to my vehicles, no way around it

so would the Zq8 spring be low enough, or do i need to go lower. I do go down a dirt road to go to a friends pretty regularly.

thanks for the reply

Did you like the height of your ZQ8? Ride quality has everything to do with the parts you choose and how you go about lowering it. My truck is 4/5 and now rides and handles way better than stock.

it rode pretty good for having autozone special shocks and having 200k+ miles. I drove it 152+ miles every day back and forth to work for about 10 mths.

I just know how aftermarket springs work on cars. I am a tech by trade and i see all kinds of suspension "upgrades" and the cars ride rough as crap.

I will go Zq8 frt coils and JTR rear blocks. see how that does. if i want to go lower than i will do spindles & rear springs.

Sounds like a good game plan. For the record I'm currently 4/5ish via 2" DJM spindles and coils, Belltech leafs, 2" BDS blocks, JTR driveshaft alignment kit, bolt in notch, Belltech Nitro 2 shocks, ZQ8 swaybars and the truck rides/handles much better than stock.
